The Town Hall Gates May 2001

Message from the Mayor

My wife Renee and I were both born and raised in Warrington - not too far from the Town Hall, and to be elected Mayor of our town is something which I had not initially visualised.  Therefore I am very proud of this great honour, and with the support of Renee, as Mayoress, will endeavour to represent the town and the people of Warrington as they richly deserve.

Warrington Unitary Authority will go forward into the year 2000 as a "young" but experienced council, with a body of people whose aim is to provide a better future for everyone.

It is a priviledge to lead the town into the next millenium and we are looking forward to working with and being involved with the many organisations that represent the community - the voluntary bodies, the public sectors, and of course the business side - all of whom contribute to the life and development of the town.

We shall also continue to support the accessibility of the Town Hall to the people of Warrington.  We have a showpiece, which generates a lot of interest, especially during the open days.

Warrington's success is reflected by the successful international links that the town has established, and through the many overseas visitors it attracts, and we shall endeavour to promote the premier town of the North West through those visits.

You're welcome to call us on 01925 442143.
